Prayer Requests for April

*Most of you know that Yong Hui has cancer in her lungs by now. She had colon cancer while we were in Sylvester, Georgia and we thought it was completely gone. Yong Hui is in Colorado Springs, taking tests so the doctors can decide her treatment plan.
*Two other teachers and I are going to Thailand with six students to teach Vacation Bible School at a Summer Camp.
*We finished the 3rd Quarter and have one quarter to go. Pray for the seniors to finish strong.
*Pray the swim team as it has gotten off to a very good start and has the league championship meet in the end of April.
*All other prayer requests pale when compared to the top two. I do praise God for the support that I have had during the last two weeks. I know our God is a Healing God and by His Stripes we are healed.

March Prayer Requests

1. The largest prayer request has to be that Easter will be a great rememberance of the death and resurection of Christ.
2. The Thailand mission trip leaves on 28 March and returns on 5 April. Yong Hui and I will stay 3 more days to attend the AP Physics seminar as I will be teaching that next year.
3. Yong Hui is expanding her responsibilities as outreach coordinator and will start attending the newcomers briefing at Camp Red Cloud.
4. Tammy changed jobs and is really enjoying it. The funny thing is that she is working for the same jcompany that she was an intern in while at Georgia Tech and was assigned the same company identification number and it is so low that she has seniority on most of the people in her office after one week on the job. She thinks her house will sell this month, pray that it does.
5. The battalion at Camp Stanley is in the field and we pray Psalm 91 protection over the soldiers and pray for the Battalion Commander who is recovering from knee surgergy.
6. Pray for the new president of South Korea, President Lee, who assumed his duties on 25 Feb.
7. Pray for our school as we still do not have a Spanish teacher and as we need several more teachers for next year.

Highlights of February

For such a short month with a lot of holidays, it seems we have been extremely busy:
1. One of the highlights was that my first roommate from West Point -- Jim Hickey, accompanied Yong Hui and me to the Dead Sea Scrolls and Birth of Christianity exhibit in Seoul. We had a good time and learned a lot.
2. My hiking buddy took me to a theme park of Dae Jang Geum. Check her out in the internet. She is quite the Korean hero.
3. The school took the Lunar New Year off and I thought I might have a chance to see a lunar eclipse on 20 Feb, but the visible area only went as far west as Hawaii.
4. We started swim team practice and we have a great team this year. Considering last year when we had 5 guys who could not swim 50 meters at the start of the practice, we have made a significant improvement.
5. We finalized the trip to Thailand with teaching assignments for the Vacation Bible School we will help teach. There are 9 students and 1 teacher accompanying Yong Hui and me.
6. Life at Camp Stanley continues to be great. Yong Hui is enjoying the people there in her position as Outreach Coordinator and I enjoy the atmosphere and the energy of the young officers and soldiers at the Sunday School. It is very neat to meet all of the soldiers heading to the 2nd Infantry Division (or at least the ones who come to chapel)
7. In one of the fun things I was able to do: I gave a physical fitness test to a home schooled student who is trying for a ROTC scholarship and I am working with one of my students to go to one of the Service Academies.

3. We will be doing our preparations for the Thailand Mission Trip
4. Tammy has several decisions to make and a house to sell in Georgia

6. Yong Hui to continue to meet families at Camp Stanley
7. For me as I to lead the Sunday School class at Camp Stanley and an English Sunday School class at a local Korean church.

January Highlights

1. The biggest thing for our school was the transfer of nearly 20 students. Most of they seemed to fit right in.
2. The Spiritual Emphasis Week and Purity Seminar (girls)/Men of Honor Seminar (boys) was well received
3. We had two snow days and a lot of coollddd.
4. The Covenant Players gave a performance at our school
5. Middle school swimming season finished on a high note with 1 girl and 11 boys participating.
6. Yong Hui is making solid relationships as the outreach coordinator at Camp Stanley
7. I have had fun as a Sunday School teacher at the Camp Stanley chapel and at the Howon 1st Pres Church about 10 minute from our home
8. We hosted a great New Year's Eve time at the Coffee House and many soldiers passed through our doors that evening.
